Here below is a video of Joe Jack Talcum & The Powders playing the Dead Milkmen classic "Life Is Shit" from the same show.  I am the organ player in this band.


In other news...

-On Sat. Dec. 11th I will be playing a free show at the punk craft fair "What a Load Of Craft VII" w/ Will Whitmore and Leslie & The Ly's at the Johnson Co. Fairgrounds (I play at 4:45PM)

-Just approved the master for the Joe Jack Talcum/ SLW & The Boo Hoos split/collaboration album.  LP will be out in 2011.  I will keep you all updated.

-I will be recording a new collaboration album with Darren Brown & Manhorse next weekend.

-Been rehearsing the new Miracles Of God material.  Future plans undetermined.

-Working diligently on my follow up to "Barely Regal Beagles".  10 new songs on tape.

-Big thanks to all the free form radio stations that have been playing my records lately!  Too cool!  I really appreciate it!

What's new?


Just got back from the Boo Hoos' East Coast tour with Joe Jack Talcum.  Despite the fact we got robbed in Detroit the tour was a big success.  Thanks to everybody who helped make the tour so much fun.

Lots of stuff in the works....
-The Boo Hoos/ Mumfords split 7" is NOW available for purchase in the shop on this site w/ free download.
-We finished up the new Boo Hoos/ Joe Jack Talcum split 12" collaboration album due out next year on Grotto Records.
-Bi-monthly lathe cut 7" club will be starting up early in 2011! More details on that soon...
-Hush hush exciting tour stuff in the works for next year.
-New recording with Darren Brown and Manhorse in the works.

Split 7" EP w/ The Mumford's!!!

UPDATE:  The Boo Hoos/ Mumford's split 7"s have arrived!  They look and sound great!  We will have them for sale at the upcoming shows and available for mail order as soon as we get back from tour.

Just got word that the new SLW & The Boo Hoos split 7" with the Mumford's should arrive from the pressing plant just in time for our departure on our upcoming tour w/ Joe Jack Talcum this Fri. Oct 8th!

The other side is an amazing story song by one of the best bands from the midwest today Ames Iowa's own, the Mumford's.  Their song is entitled:

New Boo Hoos fall 2010 tour dates with Joe Jack Talcum!

SLW & The Boo Hoos will be touring this fall with the great Joe Jack Talcum of The Dead Milkmen.  These shows will have the Boo Hoos opening up the evenings festivities and then backing Joe up during his set which will feature songs from our upcoming split collaborative 12" as well as favorites from his solo lo-fi home taper back catalog as well as songs from the Butterfly Joe and Milkmen cannon.

Barely Regal Beagles!

I have a brand spanking new album Barely Regal Beagles.  It is out now.  17 totally sweet new songs.  I am pretty proud of it.  Recorded on 4 track over the Jan-Feb. span of this last winter.   My lovely wife Grace plays some of the drums.  The Dubuque, IA wire great, Bob Bucko Jr. plays on a couple songs.  Check it out.
