Hey folks,
I have a question for you.
What format do you actually prefer to get music in?
MP3?
CD?
Vinyl?
Burnt CD-R?
Cassette tape?
I really am super curious how you all prefer to get new music. I am nearly finished with my new album and I am debating how to release it.
Please share your thoughts in the comments section below.
Thanks!

Vinyl with a digital download.

ReplyDeletevinyl or cassette with download code
ReplyDeletevinyl is the only physical format that matters any more. The digital options on Bandcamp are great -- you have to upload WAV, but at least people can download full resolution audio. Personally I mostly listen to MP3s, and I can't really hear any difference between WAV and 320K MP3 files.
ReplyDelete320K MP3 files online, with a low run of cds (w/ download code) for the merch table. And then if someone out there wants to put it out on vinyl, everyone's happy.
ReplyDeleteAnything physical. CD, cassette, whatever. Vinyl is always best (with download code), but that's not always an option. As long as it's something I can hold in my hand it's all good.
ReplyDeleteI second Mike and Kent. Vinyl with the download code is my preferred packaging.
ReplyDeleteVinyl with digital download is the way to go.
